Dr. Jim Friedericks Promoted to Director of Laboratory Quality & Research

Dr. Friedericks is the epitome of expertise and dedication. In this new role, he’ll spearhead initiatives that continuously push the boundaries of quality and precision across our four agronomy laboratories, ensuring every process exceeds the consistency and accuracy standards we demand for our clients.
He will keep a pulse on industry trends, research, and best practices – ensuring AgSource remains at the forefront of soil, water, plant, and manure testing while also developing new tests that bring even more value to our clients.
Soil and environmental science are Dr. Friedericks’ calling, and it shows throughout his 35 years deeply rooted in the field. He received his Bachelor of Science in agronomy from the University of Kentucky, followed by a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech. He’s held roles as a technician, supervisor, and lab manager and spent over a decade sharing his knowledge as a university professor in Kenya and Tanzania.
Dr. Friedericks’ journey with AgSource started in 2012, when he joined the team as a laboratory manger in Ellsworth, Iowa, working his way through the ranks to his current role.
